Message: hi
i have a spot on my back which has been there ages, i thought it was just a bit of fat tissue or something.
my g/f noticed it had a white head on it so i squeezed it and white pus came out just like a normal spot. i have to add that this spot dos'nt hurt at all.
the spot is still there and i can still get pus out of it but we have noticed that the pus really smells. the pus is'nt as runny as normal spot pus
what can this be?
i will go and see a doc, and im sure its nothing to worry about i was just wondering if anyone elase has had a simular thing.

thanks

kvalenuk

Message: Hi

It could be a sebbacious(I think I've spelt that right) cyst. They aren't dangerous. But if is bothers you can can get it removed by your GP.

Hope this helps

Message: I have had two sebacious cysts on my head, thankfully inside my hair so no one can see them, but one of them kept getting infected so I had that one removed. It should have been a quick and easy thing, but it burst part way through so my doc had to make the incision bigger to clear all the yuk out of it (she called it cheese, it smelt rotten!!)It wasnt really painful, more stomach lurching as I could hear the cuts being made, but I had a few stitches (6 in the end) and it has been fine since. Hardly even a scar. My 20 month old daughter has got one right above her eye and is on the waiting list to have that removed, though it will be done under a general by a plastic surgeon as it is very visible!!

I say get it checked out, cant hurt can it??

Message: Hi
My partner as the same thing as you are describing but it is not one you can see...if I run my hand over his back I can feel a small bump and then I apply a little pressure and away it goes...it has got to now that I know where it is and every now and again I squeeze it for him until it is clear.....the smell is awful.....then we just wait for it to refil..if that is the term to use and then I clear again.

It doesn't bother him....but then he can smell it!!!

Message: Hi Gill

Welcome to the board

I used to have to do this for my mum, for her it happens where she had a lumber puncture done nearly thirty years ago. Has your partner ever had anything like that done in that spot?

Sarah
