It maybe that you can't afford to have regular facials either but it could be a big help in deep cleaning your skin - they are recommended once a month with a good home care routine. There are some facials that can work on the spots too by drying them up (high frequency) which is combined in the Guinot facials.

I had a rash for 6 months that was only caused by stress, nothing made any difference, I tried cutting out certain foods, not using anything but bottled water on my face, no make-up, creams from the doctor and nothing, it was always worse by the end of the day - it didn't go until I got rid of the stress! Skin can be a funny thing (and I don't mean funny ha ha either), have you tried any of the advertised products for spot prone skin?

Hope this helps

Louise

Hi, I'm 26 and have struggled with severe acne since my teens, and have also tried creams, lotions, antibiotics etc. Eventually my GP referred my to a dermatologist, and I've nearly completed a course of Roaccutane. This is the best treatment I've ever had, and I already have clear skin, minus some scarring :( , and the results should be permanent. It has a lot of quite serious side effects, and shouldn't been taken without considering these, but please ask your GP to refer you to a derm. It was the best decision I ever made for my skin, after years of suffering.

Hi there,

I too have bad skin and have donesince I was about 11. I'm 42 now and still suffer (nowhere near as bad though). I tried the Roaccutane course after being referred to a dermatologist by my gp. The thing I found with that is that it worked BIG time but it dried everything up including my eyes and lips. God that was awful but worth it. Unfortunately for me my condition returned roughly 3yrs later and I couldn't deal with the dryness again so have not gone back for the second and final course (you are only allowed 2 courses). I have some spots now and again but my biggest problem is the pigmentation scarring on my cheeks.

I would definately give the Roaccutane a try if I were you - I wish I had when I was your age instead of suffering all these years!

Good luck

Thanks noofnoof,

Glad to hear from a fellow roacutaner. Have to say, now I have clear skin, I'm terrified of finishing the course and it coming back, but even 3 years of clear skin like you had would be amazing. Sorry to hear you have scarring too, mine's also on my cheeks, I'm considering saving for laser treatment once my course has finished.
