Hi Everyone,

I am just wondering who follows SW without going to a class. I have the books from last time I joined (late last year, so nothing about EE). I think I would start by doing original/green at first anyway.

Last time I went to class, I tried for 3 weeks and lost 0.5lbs. I felt really de-motivated. It seems more inspiring on these message boards.

About 9 years ago I lost just over 4.5 stones, but that was in the good old days of free meatballs, macaroni cheese, spag bol etc. The last 2.5 stone of it I did myself at home with the books and buying the magazine, all before I knew anything about i-village.

I now really want to lose about 1.5 stone, but although I did so well years ago, the last 4 years I have tried and failed numerous diets, including a few more attempts at SW.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts

Karen

HI Karen

I go to class. But like you the first time i did it years ago when things like corned beef and macaroni cheese were free. i lost just under 4 stine then. I did try it a couple of time since both on my own and with a classes but failed badly.

This time I have forgotten everything i did before and started completely a fresh. New group and new consultant. Checking my book all the time. And it seems to have worked. I have found the support on this site a real big help and i know you will find quite a few that for one reason or another are doing it alone (so to speak) at home.

Good luck

Bridget xx

Hi Karen,
I don't go to class and I haven't even got the books. I'm learning it as I go along from the magazines and looking up syns/HEs on here. I did it once before a few years ago and lost some but gave up.

I can really identify with what you say about feeling demotivated after only losing 0.5lb after three weeks of hard work. I know that my weight losses aren't ever even either (I don't know why) and I can put on a pound one week and then lose 7lb the week after on exactly the same diet, I'm only weighing myself once a month. I remember the misery of the days when I was trying hard and not losing and i don't want to go back there.

That's one of the reasons I don't go to class - I don't want to be weighed every week.

I love this board and the magazine and the diet is great. I just want to say thanks to everyone who does go to class and members of the online SW for being so helpful to us DIYers! Thank you so much.

Suz x
