i dont know what has got into me. had a really pants weekend cause of tooth ache. got back on plan mon. had a really good day tues, but woke up yesterday in the worst mood ever and cant seem to stop eatting all the wrong things.

i have been so focused and motivated. have been losing 2lb every week and was due for my half stone this week but dont think i am going to get it now :(

i will be sat on the sofa and the next thing i know i have eatten a snack sized mars bar. or as i have just done 3 snack sized choc bars.

i need to get out of this mind set but how

please help

Hi Debbie

Dont despair! Just think about how important being slim & healthy is to you, remember why you started SW, think how great you are going to feel when you have your half stone award!  A couple of snack bars wont blow it for you if you count them as syns.  When do you get weighed? Just take each day at a time and aim for that half stone! Think positive about getting that award, imagine everyone clapping you and telling you how well you have done!

If you think you have gone massively over and wont get 2lb this week then adjust your mind set - think that you'll be happy to sts for example, that way you wont set yourself up for a fall and end up back to square one.  All it means is that it'll take you a few more weeks to get your award.

As for the chocolate bars, next time you fancy one imagine you are biting into a block of lard - yuck!

Seriously dont give up, you know it works and you can do it!

thank u so much jo. i wish it were just a couple of choc bars.  :( yesterday alone i had pinini and chips, scotch egg, pastries and choc.

i get weighed tomorrow so just need to make it through the rest of the day, and hope i sts

Hi debbie,

Firstly, how many syns have you had today? It might not be as bad as you think. At least they were snack size bars and not king size ones! :D

Secondly why are you eating them?

Hungry? Then why not make up something Sw friendly.

Boredom? What else could you be doing now? Planning out your meals, writing up this weeks shopping list, writing your Xmas cards out, reading, painting your nails, house work - yuk!! 

I know i eat when i am bored, so if i get in that boredom mood i have some tactics - i'll go on the girls DS. I'll do a sudoko puzzle - Sad i know but i love them. But only the easy ones!! The really hard ones fry my brain!! :D I'll play on the Wii, read, have a bath, write out my xmas lists. Anything to take my mind off of food.

Comfort - I also comfort eat. But i'm slowly learning that nine times out of ten it doesn't make me feel better. In fact i normally end up thinking why did i eat that. I didn't really want it, i'm not hungry, i didn't enjoy it.

What ever turned you to the food - worry, stress, arguements etc is still there after you've eaten the chocolate.  And then you have to deal with it anyway. Only now you've used up your syns etc and feel terrible about yourself.

I'm depressing myself now!! :D

I guess what i'm trying to say is, ok so you've had 3 mars bars. Don't ruin the rest of the day. You can still pull it back. Why not take the girls out for a lovely walk - weather permitting. I always feel better after a good walk. It takes your mind off of food and makes me feel like i've done something productive with myself - especially if i've over eaten.

Hope that this all makes sense, you can do this.

its a bit of comfort and boardom i think. been feeling really tearfull and low the last 2 days and cant work out why.

i have no idea how many sins i have had today or yesterday. i am a bit scared to write it down tbh.

thank u for all ur ideas will def be putting them into practice now and in the future.
