I've just posted an application form to do the Moonwalk next May.  I might not get a place and with the postal strike complicating the process I have got everything crossed that my application form will get through.  If it doesn't then I have one more chance when the printed forms come out.

This will be my first ever marathon and the first event of this kind that I have tried to do.  If I get a place then I really can't avoid the training (and DH will have to put up with helping a bit more with the kids!) so should really be in shape before next summer.

So please all send positive thoughts to my application and hope that it gets me a place.

Hey Kelli!

I've done the same!! It will also be my first big event, and as you say, once entered we will have to train!

Fingers crossed!!!

Thanks ladies,

The application should be there now I think, unless the postal strike means it is still sitting in a sorting office somewhere.  I haven't decided whether it would be best to do the printed application form too because I don't think they have got time to tell me if I have a place via the downloadable application before they come out.  Bloody post office.  I might end up with two places!

Deelish, how long did you say it would take you?  I estimated a pace of 4 miles an hour which would be 6.5 - 7 hours.  I've since been told by a sporty mate (who does a lot of marathons) that that is quite fast for a beginner so I guess I'm going to be overtaken a lot!
