I have a non-stick tray that has olive oil baked onto it.  It's gone all sticky, but I clearly can't use most trusty wire wool scourer.

Any hints/ tips or handy products that actually work?  I've tried soaking in washing soda and using Cilit Bang degreaser, but it hasn't touched it.

Thanks

Hey Debs!

I suggested this yesterday to someone else, but it may be worth trying some washing powder. Add it to the tray and then some hot water then set it to simmer iether on the stove top or in hot oven. Not too much water and dont let it burn dry, just keep it simmering for 20-30 mins then give it a good rub whilst still as hot as you can bear.

Other thing may work is very very thick layer of washing up liquid and small amount of water and heat it through the same

Good luck- let me know if it works xx

Hi,

If it's a thickish bit you could try using a plastic spatula to kind of lever it off trying to "clean it off" doesn't work.

Thanks both... a combination of the 2 worked satisfactorily.  I boiled it, scraped it off with a plastic spoon and them repeated it.  The washing powder seemed to soften it enough to scrape!
