HELP!?!!

I've just been measuring up my 2 yr olds bedroom so that we can paint it and order some new furniture. I moved a chest of drawers away from the wall and found mould all over the wall. Yeuch. I feel so awful that my poor boy has been sleeping in this room just a few metres away.

It's on the outside wall but I can't see any guttering or roof tiles that are broken. Could it just be that we never open his window in there - he would jump out of the window if open lol. I've chucked loads of bleach on it and left it with the window open and DS2 downstairs.

Any ideas what to do? We desperately need to redecorate but were going to wait until Christmas but now I'm not sure now. I just want to get started today lol. Before painting the walls is there anything I should put on it so it doesn't come back?

hey Susy

You can buy a paint to go over mould to seal it, but as you say you want to find out why it happens.

Do try and get the room aired every day- could you fit a window lock so it part opens but he cant climb out? Or just open his window and close the door when he isnt in there? Sam's bedroom window (and mine) are open all day every day, and most nights!

I know as well it seems to come when the wall is warm inside at it hist the cold outside, but I dont know how you avoid that!!
