Heya,

I've never posted here before. I have a 2yr old and a 5 month old, we have a fabric sofa and its the usual thing that comes with a toddler, spills!

Now i find its smelling a bit, i cleaned the sofa cushions with carpet cleaner (only thing i could find i thought would work) but i think the smell is deeper than the surface, i even keep spraying it with fabreeze and its made NO difference at all.

Now my last hope is my mums steam cleaner when i eventually get it from her, will this work? I really dont know what else to try and the smell is REALLY getting to me now :(

I was going to try vinegar but i wasnt sure if it would change the colour of the sofa, we are getting a new 1 early next year but i have to put up with it until then and theres no way i can put up with the smell until then!

Love

I had the same problem with milk spills (very smelly).   I tried everything including soaking in the shower which was a huge mistake, as the weight of the water makes lifting them out again impossible.

Not necessarily the best recommendation but as a last resort and the only way to really deep clean is what we did.   Put the seat cushions into industrial washers at your nearest laundrette.   It worked fantastic for us but the big mistake was overdrying in the tumble dryer.

I now have the problem of our light beige replacement suite ( 4 years old) needing cleaning.   It's not so much the seating but the arms and general overall grubiness.

GFood luck.

Dozey.
