I haven't posted here for a while but really could do with some opinions. For the past two-three months I have had period-like bleeding every two weeks, lighter than normal but darker in colour on the mid-cycle bleed. I stopped taking the Pill a while before this started but my period carried on as normal for at least 3 months afterwards, so it doesn't seem to be that unless it's a delayed reaction. As well as the change in my cycle, I have put on weight, my stomach feels larger/bloated, bubbly(?) and I swear my boobs are getting bigger - I'm also constantly exhausted, probably from losing blood so often!

I did have a ruptured ovarian cyst 5 years ago and so as soon as I realised these symptoms weren't just a one off I booked an appointment with my GP. He listened and told me to come back if it continues for 6 months in total and just ride it out for now, typical man! I'm still worried however because this is very unusual for me and I just feel something is different in that area. I requested a scan just to give me some peace of mind, especially since I got no warning with the cyst that ruptured. That was a very traumatic experience and since DP and I would like to start a family at some point in the next couple of years I don't want anything going wrong 'down there'

Would really appreciate any thoughts or similar experiences,

Thanks,

Wings ~ *

I know it's frustrating for you, but periods can be funny things!!...... sometimes they just blip for no reason at all, then they sort themselves out!!. ( Mine went AWOL last year for several months, and they have no idea why!!).... what i'm saying is that your GP wants to give them a chance to sort themselves out before doing any hormone tests.... but do make sure you go back when he suggested if they're still out of kilter...... so many things can alter your cycle..... stress, weight changes, hormones, and like i said, for no reason at all!!

Hope you get to the bottom of it
