Apologies if this has become listed twice but my original post appears not to have been listed so here goes...

I had a Copper Coil fitted in August (i had one previously 5 years ago but had it removed after 10 months of agony), the water retention is horrendous & i'm seeing my GP Friday, also i have gained a stone since August, is there a connection?! I'm not allowed to take the pill unfortunately so not sure what other options i have in a realistic world. I'm 36 with a 9yr old daughter born by C section. When i go to the GP's i want to go armed with some facts other than Ouch & Er! Thanks all. :o)

If it's a plain copper coil and not a hormonal Mirena one, then your weight gain is not likely to be related......nor the water retention i would say.... do get the advice of your GP though, they may want to do some blood tests to see if there's something else going on!!
