I am thinking of having my implant taken out, i am constantly bleeding on it and its really starting to get me down. I have also noticed that no matter how much i excercise or diet i cannot seem to lose a pound which is really not like me, i used to be able to lose weight really easily if i tried, but i'm stuck dead on the same weight.

I wondered if anyone has had this taken out and genuinely lost weight afterwards? or is it just in your mind and an excuse? ..because alot of people say it does but not heard any stories of it being taken out and dropping the weight straight away?

Also anyone's experiences of this would be good, i've been on it for 6 months and bled for most of that! i know it takes a while to settle but its the not knowing, i can stop then just start bleeding heavy out of the blue which isnt great.

The problem is i've never found a pill that agrees with me, and i really can't stand the thought of the coil ect.. so if i do have it taken out i'm going to have problems finding which alternative to take...and they all make you put on weight!!!

hi hun sorry ur having problems i cant say about the weight loss i have had 2 implants now an seem to have stayed at the same weight when they were in and out my wieght hasnt gone up or down,

as for the bleeding when i had my first implanon i bled the whole time i was on it got hot flushes and headaches went to the gp after a year of putting up with this and had it out. well i went on the mini pill for a bit cos again i get probs on the pill and am not the best at rememberin them either that 2 didnt agree with me i have put it down to me having endometriosis but i dunno. anyway had baby dec 08 and madly went back on the implant what a regret! nearl y a year later i am bleedin all the time, then i miss periods and think ive somehow got pregnant but its normally about 30 days in between and i have even had 3 periods in a month the doc gave me pills to stop the bleeding and regulate my periods but its hell. i have totally lost my sex drive and its causing relationship problems, i 2 am having this thingg OUT AND WILL NOT  have it again im a bit stuck with what i will use as ive even had problems with the mirena coil they gave to try to contorl my endo anyway thats my expereince, good luck i hope u can sort it out it may be that urs will settle down but for me it hasnt and im not willing to try again.my advice is to visit the gp tell them the problems but dont let them fob u off and say it will all b ok cos it might not be. let me know how u get on  best wishes
