I'm really miffed, I'd just arrived home yesterday, drove onto the driveway and there was a guy about to post something through the door. He came over to the car, and I opened the door to chat to him, he went to hand me a leaflet (bloody sales people), and it was just out of my reach. He looked at me expectantly like, 'well come and get it then', I said that i'm a wheelchair user so can't get out to take it from him, and he came out with the immortal line
'well you look fine to me'.
Why do people judge on appearances? Do I have to look sick because my legs don't work? Can't I be a wheelchair user because i'm young?
As I had the car door open he could see the big bright yellow sticker on the driving column that says the car is adapted for hand controls! There's also a big black metal pedal guard with another yellow sticker on it.
Sorry, just had to vent!
I hope everyone is well xx
