Hi Betty,

I'm still here.  I'm mostly lurking cos my allergies are relatively well controlled but I'm hoping to be of help to anyone who is struggling with theirs.  Especially adults with allergies cos so much of the advice seems to be around kids and people saying "they'll grow out of it" - well, I grew _in_ to it!!

Glad to hear that you're being successful in introducing dairy for your daughter.  I'm allergic to milk protein so I know how hard it is to exclude it.  I've tried reintroducing it to my diet but my body makes it quite clear it doesn't appreciate it!

Thanks for checking up on us, I guess, all things considered, we wouldn't want this board to be too busy.  It's great if there aren't too many fellow sufferers out there and that people are coping well.

Thanks, Cat

Hi Betty

I took Millie back to the hospital the day after she was one, and she scored 2-3 for egg white and yolk and 5 on her milk skin prick tests.  We are to carry on as we are and go back in  year, if things have changed they may try some food challanges but the nurse did advise as lo gets older they sometimes challenge themselves with the things that they get old of.

Millie is ok with cooked egg, but not 'neat' egg.  I am worried about calcium so today I got her a suppliment that is dairy free etc. We are waiting for a dieticians app so hopefully it will keeps us going until then.  Millie is on wysoy now about 7 oz at night and has 4-5 oz of alpro with her breakfast.  We really want to see the dietician however as Millie hasnt what I would call a solid poo since I stopped feeding her (hence a swap from infasoy to wysoy to see if it helps).  (sorry tmi).

Anyway sorry Ive rambled - will keep you updated.

hi kerry

is the formula on prescription? it could be that millie can't deal with soya either. holly couldn't have soya so was on cow n gate pepti.

any news form the dietitian yet?

i used to try holly on things she reacted to every few months - different thing each week lol, her dietitian said their gut matures quickly so every 3 months is the best time to retest.

xx
