Message: I'm wondering why my period hasn't arrived yet. It usually comes every 26 days, once or twice a year it comes a little early or a little late. So far it's day 30 and I'm waiting. I've been as late as 33 days once in the past (during a stressful time). I'm 29 and just finished a cold. I've never been on the Pill so my cycles are natural. I usually get symptoms before I have periods such as aching breasts, moods, and so on, but not this time. Just wondered why.

Message: Hi dolphin

I agree with the previous poster, stress and worrying about your periods can delay them. You will probably find over the holidays that you will relax and things will settle back down to normal again.

If you are really worried why not take a pregancy test or pop along to your doctor/family planning clinic for a quick check up.

May I ask why age you are? I was also wondering if you were in your late 40's or early 50's that it could be related to Menopause.

Let me know if you have any more questions, come back any time.

Message: Hi,

I have got my period now, atlast. It came 2 days ago, I forgot to mention it here and should let you know it's okay. It must've been stress or my flu. Thanks both.

In reply to Sarah I'm 29 years old, hope this isn't a sign of premature menopause? I'm celibate (I haven't got a boyfriend) and v.unlikely to get pregnant. If I had a b/f pregnancy would be the first thing on my mind.

Message: Hi Dolphin

I am glad things have sorted themselves out, we can be stressed at times and never realise it and that can mess up our cyles.

I doubt it is a sign of menopause I think most people vary a bit over the course of their lives. If you miss a period completely I would see your doctor otherwise I am sure you will be fine, just make sure to have your regular smear tests to prevent unwanted problems later on.

Happy Christmas

Sarah
