Message: hi i'm 26 and about 4 months ago i started bleeding in between my periods then i never had a period for about 2 months but i bled after strenous work and excersise and also a few hours after sex,then it was getting to the stage where it would calm down but then it would keep starting after sex, now i've been bleeding for 4 weeks+ non stop and i've also noticed that i have brown discharge leeking from my right nipple i've always had a white milky discharge leeking breasts since i had a miscarrage in 1994 and all the way through my pregnancy in 1995-96 i had blood tests for that a few years ago and they found that my prolactin count was high so they done a special blood test at the hospital and they found that it lowered the longer i was in the hospital so they put the high prolactin count down to stress but now i've noticed that the milk in my right nipple comes out sometimes creamy then brown or brown first then creamy does anyone have a clue what could be the matter thanx

Welcome to the board

I would suggest you go for a check up and update your doctor or the changes your experiencing and see if he will run any tests re your reoccurant bleeding. Also he may wish to run tests on the discharge from your breasts, let me know if you have any pain or itching, it could be possible that you have any infection of some sort.

Also what concraception are you using at the moment? have you just stoped using a brand of the pill or depo that may account for the constant bleeding.

i have been to see my gp about 4 months ago and he said that he was refuring me to see a gyne but some how there was a mix up and i was never sent, they done a swab and found that i had an infection (a general one not sexually transmitted) and he gave me antibiotics in fact they never stopped the bleeding so i went back again and they didn't work either so he gave me more and i'm still the same.
on xmas eve he gave me more and and he said that he would chase the hospital up. i haven't taken the antibiotics from xmas eve as they don't seem to be doing anything and i don't think that your supossed to keep taking antibiotics.
i'm not using any contraception as my husband has had a vascectomy and i have no pain or itching on my breasts, my brother died tragically a year ago so i don't no if it could be anything to with stress.
i recieved a letter from the hospital this morning but they say that i could be waiting for anything up to 3 months to be seen thanx sarah.

I am glad at least you are on a waiting list to be seen.

If anything changes in your symptoms in the slightest please see your doctor or if you are unable to see your doctor you could try your local family planning even if all they can do is reassure you and give you a brief check up to help you feel better.

I hope all it is is stress.

Message: hello, ive sent a message about my leaking nipples but no one has written back so up until I saw youre message I thought maybe its just me.
I had a baby 4 years ago and still if I squeeze my nipple clear liquid comes out. I haven't a clue what this is I have alwys thought it was because I didn't breastfeed and let my milk dry up naturally. What do you think? I too do get stressed and also did suffer from quite bad Post Natel depression maybe its that.
