I'm not sleeping properly AGAIN!

I know I have a lot on my mind but there's no way to make that ease up right now... but I could reeeeeeally do with a good night's sleep.

I normally fall asleep fairly easily, but then roughly 20-30mins after I get a nightmare, which wakes me up and makes me feel awful. So then I try NOT to go to sleep cos I know I'll just get another one and feel even worse than before... but then I get so tired, I fall back asleep and it's a vicious circle. And still I don't get more than a few short naps each night. It's so frustrating!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I just needed to vent my frustration... and find a way of pulling the plug on my brain at night times.

:-(

You and me both! Yikes rotten grammar but you know what I mean.

For about three nights running I have crawled into bed by 11 pm crashed out but woken again at 1.30 am, awake for an hour, sleep for a couple of hours, wake again etc etc. Not nightmares but a complete panic about going to London for the weekend, family wedding in August, DS and fiance planning a wedding in November too. I am pleased they are marrying just can't stop panicking about it.

I honestly think that all we can do for boardies around here is see each other through the bad patches. I used to find that Chamomile tea helped but that is no good any more. Could be that the anxiety you are getting would be sorted by medication :<

Could be we both need locking up!

Sorry, I thought I'd replied to your reply already... but obviously I hadn't!

It's so frustrating waking up in the middle of the night. Having gone through every single kind of messed-up sleeping pattern imaginable (e.g. chronic insomnia, over-sleeping, sleeping during the day, stop-start/nightmares), this is one of the worst. It's awful to say it, but at least when you've got chronic insomnia, you learn you're just not going to get any sleep and can spend the night-time doing productive things. With this, you sleep, then you don't, then you do, then you're awake again just lying there.... GRRR!

Let's hope you subconsciously deal with your worries about the wedding before November and get a full, good night's sleep... or you'll be there with panda eyes! 8-) http://www.bgsu.edu/studentlife/greeks/alpha-omicron-pi/panda0106.jpg

Actually, my sleeping patterns are getting better now. I think the anxiety is too temporary to require meds... I'm coming to terms better with my friend's death, and my other worries are sorting themselves out too (i.e. another friend who was seriously ill and in hosp for 6 weeks, has now almost made a full recovery.)

"Could be we both need locking up!" - That's a fairly drastic option... but you have a point!!!!! :-)

Hi there petal. No probs about not replying.

I haven't been too bad sleepwise lately. Cats tend to wake me early though when I could have grabbed another hour. All hell broke loose night before last. "Something" got in through the cat flap and my two little darlings were not happy naturally! Not even sure what it was I just heard the shrieks and crashes. Found some blood on the catflap which didn't belong to my two. All this was about 5 am and I was actually asleep.

Good to read your other friend is recovering from illness. One of my friends, a neighbour is recovering too after an absolutely awful year and two major ops.

hugs
