Hi Melanie

Oh how I sympathise! Have suffered from both bloating and constipation for years (even had the piles to prove it!) And it definitely got worse during the menopause.
My bloating seems to be a hereditary thing - all my family suffer from it. Constipation? Who knows?! Have read all the right articles and eat all the right things (well mostly) but doesn't seem to help.

Since you are so worried I think you ought to have a chat with your doctor - probably don't want to hear that cos if you're like me you think ''what if?''. But be brave.

Once he/she's given you the all clear you can search for remedies. I haven't got rid of the bloating BUT my medical herbalist got rid of the constipation (and, thank God, the piles)by adding something to my herbal mixture (sorry, don't know what it was!)

If you want to try this route I would highly recommend it. You can find your nearest one at www.nimh.org.uk I went from being ' a medical herbalist, don't talk nonsense' type of person to a complete convert.

Good luck.

HELLO melanie,

meno is a pain isn't it. Bloating is a big problem with meno. You might make sure you are drinking enough water as it will help releave the bloating and the constipation.

I do understand your cancer phobia with all you have been through. It is bound to affect you. I think, as Lin says, a quiet chat with your GP might help you and remember we are here for you when you need to offload.

Hugs

Jillxx
