Oh dear, nigelsmum. Sounds like you've been having hot flushes for as long as I have! I do honestly think that Dr Wendy is right - overwork, stress, weight problems (we all have those, don't we...), and drinking too much tea, coffee, wine and so on - are all going to ensure that we keep on having them. I was given some great advice somewhere here on the board a while ago: Try Sepia. It did seem to work for me, to an extent. At least, it makes me feel better because I feel as if I'm trying to control the hot flushes without resorting to HRT. I've started the menopause in my mid-forties. I'm now over 60 and, although most of the menopausal symptoms have slowly crept away, the hot flushes have stayed with me - a constant friend in the coldest weather, and a hateful enemy whenever the outside temperatures hit over 70!
