Hi

I was just wondering what those others who are actively trying to recover/gain weight eat on a daily basis - and how do you plan your meals?

At the moment i am currently trying to normalise my eating and guess i just need a few ideas as currently i'm quite fixed in my ways

I also find that i don't like going out at night anymore - not for fear of socialising but because i know it means i will miss dinner (i usually just have a snack if im going out at night) and i hate doing that - as my evening meal is my favourite - does anyone else do this?

Hi,

there is a menu in the folder below which i will find and bump up for you. I do nag about calcium levels though, very important, especially for those with ED.

Got for you on not wanting to miss your dinner.

Hi,

The food plan link Jill has put down is almost exactly what I followed. I think my snack was a bit more while I was gaining, but that's coz i have a physical job. What's written there is what I'd follow on a non teaching day I'd say (which I'd find difficult when i don't exercise, but it is do-able). It's pretty much still the same now and my weight has stabilised, although I still worry it's suddenly going to go up (so irrational!!). When i was first gaining I tried to really cut my exercise down - not allowing myself to do anything on top of my teaching. No extra runs or exercise DVDs. It's hard, but do try if exercise is a thing for you.

Well done on what you've achieved so far. You're sounding really motivated, and that's great :-)

Could you go out with friends in the evening but go for a meal so you don't miss out on your evening meal, and don't miss out on socialising either? I know I struggle eating away from home, but for me it's control issues. I'm getting better I think. (I have a BBQ today at a friends so that'll be a test of that!)

Keep fighting xx

thank you - i had seen the 2000 cal prescription - i guess what i was looking for was what people actually eat - in terms of cereals, fillings, snacks etc so that i can try and get some ideas

i must admit though that the idea of eating 2000 cals is terrifying - i dont eat that at the moment and my weight is gradually increasing so god knows what will happen if i went up to 2000

Not really sure if I should tell you this but I am happy to repove this post if anyone is upset by it.

When we restrict food our bodies recognise there is stravation coing so it conserves calories, hence the weight gain. You really do need to eat at least 2000 calories today. Even just sitting totally still doing nothing but breathing takes more calories than you'd believe. A good steady diet and your body will level out and function well and your weight will be correct for you.

hugs
