hello

I have recently been diagnosed with binge eating disorder and am currently on medication for depression too i have gone from being very low and poorly in hospital regarding my illness and from eating nothing to overeating over the years and it is getting me down every minute/hour of each day, i didnt realise it was a disorder all this time i just thought i was a lazy pig really,

not sure what to expect from the board here but i need support i have been referred to a counsellor that deals with my kind of disorder and hoping i will recover soon

any tips or advice on how i can try and stabilise my eating now? my psycologist has also been trying to help me but so far its not working :-( i guess its a long road to recovery i just want to get right now but it doesnt work like that i guess

lucy xx

Hi Lucy,

Just wanted to say hi and well come you to the board.

It is a long road, but you have taken the first, sometimes the hardest ones in seeking help.

Andrea. xx

Hi Lucy,

welcome to the board and a very well done for taking the first, the biggest step, towards recovery.  Admitting we have the problem and seeking help for it is the hardest part and you have already done it :-)

I think we all tell ourselves stuff like we are fat, lazy, whatever and the evil little voice of ED taunts us with them. In reality we need to remember that ED is an illness, just like measles or flu and we need to not beat ourselves up over it.

Depression is something else I understand. I have it and I also co CL the Depression support board. tends to give us a double whammy here.

You will get loads of support here so keep posting.
