I took my first metformin tablet about 90 mins ago. I am worried after reading all the stories about constant running to the toilet. I was diagnosed in may with PCOS. And am hoping this will regulate my periods so that I can then start to TTC.

PCOS has got me down. Obviously the not getting pregnant and the weight gain [over 10kg] and then the facial hair that seemed to appear. I love my tweezers.

Anyway, so far I feel okay, felt a little sick when I took it, but then again that could be the nerves about taking it. But no stomach cramps as of yet.

I am curious to know what your experiences of it are.

Hi Kazz....

I have taken 2 500mg tablets today, but they want me to take 3 so it will be 1500mg a day but I think I will stick with 2 till I ease on to it. I have had a stomach ache today but nothing too bad. I do feel a little urgh, like I don't want to eat much, but I am also coming down with a cold so that might be related to that.

I will continue with it as everything I have read everyone is saying that after a few weeks they felt okay.

My cycles are like how yours were, I think in the last 2 years the lease amount of time was 39 days but mostly they are about 60. So I really hope it will sort that out, and if I can lose some of the weight that I have gained I will be really happy too.

I understand you being scared to TTC but just take your time. I really hope you get your BFP...I think I am going to stay on this for 5 months or so, and then think about TTC.

I am typing this and my stomach is making noises. Oh dear.

hi

I hope you are feeling less nervous about your metformin now because I can reassure you from personal experience that not everybody gets side effects of taking it.  I have been taking 4 tablets a day now from January 2007 and have had no side effects whatsoever.  Okay maybe i am one of the lucky ones but you may be too.  How are you getting on?
