hi ladies

am off to docs tomorrow to ask if i can start using progesterone suppositries (sp?) after Ovulation when TTC BUT i need to go tomorrow ARMED AND DANGEROUS with info cos for some strange reason gp's dont seem too keen on the idea of people using progesterone when they suffer with recurrent miscarriages, no idea why! so if i can say i know "certain number of people" using progesterone in conjunction with metformin then it might sway it in my favour... im just waffeling now

thanks in advance

hugs

morning lisa

it wont let me read the article, keeps asking me to register but you have to pay 31dollars to register, i think

it does let me read about clomid with metformin, but doesnt mention progesterone in that article!!

thanks for the info though, my cons did mention taking my clomid with the metformin and i was a little worried as i have read somewhere that clomid can mess up your endometrium when TTC! so hard sometimes to research things on the net cos you ALWAYS get conflicting info

Hi

Sorry the info wasnt as clear as I thought, clomid is very good working with metformin and it is the insulin resistance which comes with PCOS which is the trouble maker!  It also interferes with lots of other stuff in your body (like processing your food correctly hence putting on weight with PCOS).  I would recommend discussing clomid with your GP although you may need to be referred to fertility at your local hospital to actually access it (often depends upon your GP's budget I think).  It is well worth having a chat with him/her though.  Metformin works against the insulin resistence and clomid helps on the fertility side of things.  Another drug which helps with insulin resistence and, obviously with losing weight, is Orlistat (Xenical) which your GP can also prescribe for you.
