Hi

Just wondered if anyone could give me some advise. I am 22 and 2 years ago I was diagnosed with serve cervical erosion. I had cryotherapy done but with in 4 months it was back again. I am now in a great deal of pain for which I have been prescribed Mefenamic acid tablets. The thing is I have very bad pp’s and they now start a week before my period and are getting progressively worse. Is this normal?

I feel bad about going to the doctors as I seem to be there a lot and they normally say there is nothing they can do, it is driving me mad! I do have a narrowing of the canal from the surgery.

I’m sorry if this is too much info!! Nobody seems to be able to give me any help. My doctors did say that they would put me in for a hysterectomy if thing don’t improve but I really don’t want that. In fact my doctors said that I should be trying for a baby as I might not be able to for very much longer – nothing like scaring me is there!! Do you think they are right?

I am just really confused.. Any help very appreciated!!!

Beth

Hi Beth,

I am so sorry that you have been affected by this awful condition, healing thoughts coming your way.

Sweetie, severe period pains a week before your period is due isn't normal for most people, and while I understand your reluctance to see your GP, considering your medical history I think you really must go.

As to trying for a baby, only you can make that decision honey, it's as deeply personal as it gets and there is an awful lot to consider (on both sides of the argument), not least being do you have a partner who is also willing to become a parent at this time or would you be going it alone?

Please go and see your doctor, with the problems you have already experienced no one is going think badly of you.

All the best Pern xx

PS, please don't worry about TMI on this board, without all the info people can't help, so there is no such thing as TMI.
