Hi everyone, was just seeking some help or advice, or both!

DH and I have separated; amicably and we are just sorting out the financial side. No divorce yet, just financial and house selling.

So far I have done this:

Advised Council he has moved out so can get reduction in Council Tax.
Submitted new tax credits from to claim as single person, and hopefully get working tax credits.

Is there anything else I can claim? Such as benefits, help with bills etc.

I have telephoned the CSA who advise it is 15% of his salary, which I have worked out, then divided that figure over 12 months to get a monthly payment. However, my friend said it is net income, not gross income it has to be worked out on. I wasn't told this when I called. I am at work next two days and can't phone CSA back or go on internet (am doing this sneaky in a break at the risk of being caught and told off!!). If it is net then the amount will be a pittance.

Would be grateful for anyone's help.

Thanks.

Hi

You can check your entitlement to benefits here www.entitledto.co.uk

As for the CSA, they make certain deductions from his salary before making the calculation. Basically they ensure he has enough to live on then take a percentage, depending on your family.

I would speak to the CSA again as noone here can give you exact advice on this figure without knowing all the circumstances.
