Hi all,

A few of you have asked for some guidelines and I feel I need some myself to make sure I keep things unifom here, too!!

~ One thread, or several?

I think it's best if we each keep our blogs to one thread. However, you may wish, in order to keep threads at a managable level (and especially if you want to look back on previous entries), to use one thread per month of blogging, hence threads will be about 30 messages long (assuming you write an entry a day, and you're doing a thread a month).

~ Replying to an entry

I think it would be fair if we didn't break up the flow of one's blog by posting replies to a specific entry. Instead, if you see something to which you'd like to reply, start a new thread for the appropriate person and start a discussion there. That way, the blogs are interrupted and you can also have a discussion without it being broken up with blog entries.

~ Dating your blogs

I think with our blogs it's important to date them, but the date and time of typing a message is shown on every message. Consequently, you don't have to put a date in your blog, unless you're used to starting/ending your blogs in a specific way with a date etc.

~ Thread titles

If you're starting a thread about a blog, consider putting the word 'blog' and your username/name somewhere in the title of the thread. That way it's easier to see what's a blog and what isn't.

These aren't hard and fast rules, so if you'd rather do things differently then that's absolutely fine, but consider these guidelines to help things run nice and smoothly :o)

That's all I can think of at the moment, but will add to these if necessary.

Most importantly, enjoy being a part of the board!

Nemo
