What do you think about the plays of William Shakespeare or the Bard? Do you have a favourite? or do you not like his plays at all, and if not why not? Do you think they are boring? Is that because the only time you've come across them was at school where you might not have been in the best frame of mind to appreciate him? Or do you find the language just too much to take?

Some of his plays have made the most wonderful films - Branagh's Henry V and the bloodthirsty but thrilling version of Titus Andronicus with Antony Hopkins and Jessica Lange being just two that spring to mind.

My favourite is Pericles, mainly because I saw a great version of it at the National many moons ago and seeing a good version of the play makes all the difference.

Hi NfW

Shakespeare is fab.
I love the works.
I don't know them all.
I probbaly don't even know half but i do like the ones
i know.
Including the most well-knowns.
Noteably, ROMEO & JULIET.
I have seen it a few times and was hooked when i saw the
Mold Theatre Company perform it at the Sherman in Cardiff many
MANY years ago.
I did As You Like It at A Level
macbeth should always be done in dark and mysterious castles.
I saw it and Julius Caesar done at Ludlow Castle (ludlow festival)
quite some time ago but they live in my memory. Haydn 'phwoar' Gwynne
played lady macbeth and was great.
Maybe i am unusual in that appreciate it because i did it at school.
And was fortunate to see it live where it is best appreciated.
I would love to see a work or two or more done in the round at
The Globe.

It's good gut-wrenching stuff at times.
And certain films have done great justice to some of the works.
Well done to Olivier and Brannagh

Yo
xx
