Bit of fun news rather than a serious topic. Just wondered what you all thought of the news?

Have to say I was suprised and unsuprised at the same time.

I do like watching their programme but do think Katie treats Pete like dirt and not many men would put up with that. He is also great with the kids including Harvey.

I think they are good parents and love their kids and it is sad they are splitting as it is for any family.

However,what are they going to do now without their weekly appearance in OK magazine and their TV show LOL!

I wasn't really suprised - though I have to say that when I watched them getting together on that jungle programme (can't remember the name of it!) they seemed to have really genuine feelings for each other.

That said, like you I can imagine she would be a nightmare to live with - very demanding and VERY high maintenance. Peter Andre seemed always to be a pretty decent bloke.

It will be interesting to see what happens now with the OK deals - will he now step out of the limelight or will we have his and hers seperate accounts and interviews at each stage of the divorce?! I saw at lunchtime that Katie is asking for privacy from the press - seems to me to be a bit much to expect that when she has deliberately courted publicity every step of the way!

I wasn't surprised really as she does treat him appallingly and I definitely wouldn't put up with being spoken to like that. I feel sorry for the kids though as he seems a great dad and does seem to be the one that spends the most time with them.

I don't think you need to worry about the OK deals and TV programmes though. I'm sure we''ll see plenty of both of them over the next few months as the divorce proceedings are played out in the media for all to see.

Like Fi, I think she has a bit of a cheek asking for privacy at the moment!

I really dont have much respect for Katie/Jordan whatever she markets herself as these days.

I used to think it was fine that she "sold" herself as a product because it's her life and her career and she was good at it. However I cringed everytime I walked into a shop and spotted her little boy Harvery on the front cover with a headline like "my hell with harvey" "Harvey hits me!" .  It seemed like she was using him to make money from these magazines.

I dont watch the Katie and Peter show, but I've seen them together in tv interviews and hear of all the stories where she screams at him, and I really cant blame the man for leaving her.  I noticed on Yahoo recently that she left the country with their 2 children (leaving harvey behind) and went to hers and Peters honeymoon destination and had pics snapped of them there enjoying themselves. This "apparently" crushed him, and I think it had the desired effect.

I just hope Peter gets access to the children. It would be hard on them not to have both parents in their life having had it that way for so long.

I have a really dim view of these two...  The whole 'Katie & Peter' franchise seems to me to have been just that all along.  Get together, make a packet out of the idiot saps that buy magazines & run it like a living soap.  Post-breakup, when something appeared in the press that they 'asked people respect their privacy' I laughed like a drain.  'Privacy' as in 'unless you've paid us for an exclusive....'

In terms of family exploitation they're morally hovering somewhere near Karen Matthews.....  Awful people.
