Hi you Ozians. I saw Wicked on Friday 9th October.   At last,  Sam Kelly was on as the Wizard.  Not bad!-He looked good- Moved well -but was a bit gravelly.   Also, an exellent Boq--George Ure is the best one I have seen since James Gillan.   Lexi and Dianne were fabulous,  as always,  but I was disappointed with their diction and delivery in places. Some plot lines and jokes were lost. I know they have both been poorly during the week but I have often thought they could both learn from Sarah Earnshaw whose diction is faultless.

Ollie was great , as always. I also saw him on Sunday at the Scott Alan show in the Leicester Square Theatre. What a terrific show and Ollie performed a number which showed off his vocal range at its best. He brought the house down.     Mind you, I saw quite a few of you Ozians there wielding your "Wicked" programmes for autographs at the VIP reception afterwards.  What a great night--and what a great weekend.

So sorry to hear that many of the cast and stand-bys have been so unwell. Even Nessarose's chair and the dragon produced no steam on Friday night. Let's hope that this blog doesn't run out of steam. It's been a bit sparse of late. How I miss the in-depth reviews of "danielwhit".   Keep 'em coming folks. Luv. bonytony.

Thanks Bonytony for your review, I really enjoy reading your constructive comments and your enthusiastic words of wisdom. I too have noticed that there have been fewer comments on this message board of late. I last saw Wicked in the Summer holidays (my ninth time) and took a group of people who hadn't seen it before. Although they all really enjoyed it, I  felt a little disappointed with how rushed it was. I felt that lots of the jokes were missed due to poor diction, lets hope everyone gets back on top form soon.

Is anyone else going  to Wicked Day?  My daughters have finally finished their "Wicked Garden" for Galinda's gardening competition. Did anyone else enter and find it impossible to photograph?

Thanks again for the review hope there will be more postings in the future.

Dear pc10,  Glad to know there is still someone out there.  I have never been to a musical more than once before except "Wicked". The last time was my 18th visit,-sad or what!!! I do so love the show, not just because of the great music but the show is so well written with such a roller-coaster of emotions. And it's so funny. I always come away from the show with a feeling of great satisfaction and warmth. I really must be getting old.

I would really love to go to "Wicked" day but living so far away (Penzance) has it's drawbacks. I hope you and your family have a really good time.

What about the auditions for the new cast.  I would love to do "The Wizard"--You should hear my "Wonderful" in the shower. I don't think many of the existing cast will be staying though. Luv to all,  bonytony.

I went for my 10th time a few weeks back. I booked the tickets as it was supposed to be Lexi's first day back but she wasn't on...little disappointed but Ashleigh is amazing so it's never a hardship!!!Sam seems to be getting better as the wizard although the gruff voice makes him sound like he's running out of breath..Desmond is my Fav wizard to be honest. I saw the Nessa understudy and I loved her better that Natalie (sorry).

I'm off to wicked day!! First time and I cannot wait!! I have a dance exam the day before so will be looking forward to going..

My brother & I do a fabulous (if not out of tune) rendition od WITF :)

Love to you you ozians :) xx

Dear Elphie2009,   SNAP!!!! I also think Desmond is the best Wizard so far.  Also if you read my blog "wicked re-visited" you will see I was very impressed with Stevie Tate-Baur's Nessarose when I saw the show in July. Definately the best Nessarose to date.

I would still really like to see Ashliegh as Elphaba. I have met her several times and saw her sing at Ollies gig at Bush Hall last year. She has an amazing voice. I was so dissapointed that she didn't perform at Scott Alans show at the Leicester Square Theatre on Sunday, 11th Oct.  Apparantly her understudy duties in Wizard took priority because of cast absences due to sickness.  Still we had the wonderful, personable and ubertalented Oliver Tompsett to entertain us and also an impressive Mark Evans who I believe was Ollie's understudy(standby ?- I never know the difference) for a while. Nice to hear from you again. Luv to all . bonytony.
