Well I am going to be the 1st to admit my knowledge of politics is VERY limited and it isn't something I have a huge interest in. However I am wondering what your thoughts on the BNP are? Do you think people are too quick to knock the BNP without knowing their policies? Do you think people base their views on what they are reading in the papers rather than taking the time to actually view their policies?

I know a lot of people had strong views on the recently aired question time. Do you agree or do you think everyone is entitled to their opinions and free speech?

Hi

I think the QT episode was a total fiasco quite honestly. I saw some clips of the show and it was a shambles, all that seem to happen is that Nick Griffen was being shouted over and heckled and rather than this being an opportunity to tell the electorate their policies say on education, the EU and the economy it turned into a bit of a witch-hunt, which had the effect that the BNP probably got more sympathy than they would have othwerwise.

I think it was the right decision to let him on, whatever you may think of the BNP (and I wouldn't vote for them personally), they are a legitimate party and have the right to be heard, the same as any other. We live in a democracy and  people have the right to listen to the BNP and decide for themselves if they like what they hear. I think it is a shame that this episode has probably done more to win the BNP floating voters than if Nick Griffen had been allowed to speak, outline his policies and damn himself out of his own mouth. Any publicity is better than none at all in this instance.

The BBC shot themselves in the foot, it was supposed to be a debate going over current issues and instead it turned into a BNP and Nick Griffen bash session, that certainly hasn't gone down well in the area I live in. If anything its turned people from Labour to the BNP, simple as that. The chair of the debate was biased which to me is a big no no, he was not impartial, he failed at doing his job correctly. The other people on the panel were terrible if I'm honest and did themselves no favours. Jack Straw was especially terrible.

The thing that got me is the supposedly anti-fascists where trying to stop someone from speaking because they don't agree with what he has to say. If I'm honest they're proving to be more a danger to peoples' freedoms than the BNP, they're usually nothing more than a violent mob. Again they do nothing more than most likely boosting support for the BNP, proving they're not the brightest of people. If they had done a peaceful protest objecting to Nick Griffen and the BNPs political views then that would have been perfectly fine, instead they used violence to try and stop someone from speaking.

Would I vote for the BNP? I really doubt it, it would be quite a switch from what I currently vote now (Liberal). Though I do agree that we are handling immigration badly. What we need is to be as strict as say Australia however, being apart of the EU makes that extremely hard and no I don't think we should leave the EU :P

Hi Sparkling Sunshine,

I don't believe that anyone who denies the Holocaust, has the right to be heard in any capacity, let alone being able to run a political party.

Love S xx

Message: I disagree, while I think anyone who denies the Holocaust is quite the idiot I think he should have the right to say it's not true if that's what he wants to do. Also he did say on Question Time that he accepts that the Holocaust did happen but I don't think it was sincere.
