Hello lovely ladies :)

I wondered if anyone else is not sending cards this year?
I usually go crazy and send to all and sundry but this year we are definitely feeling the pinch so I've decided no cards this year. I will get some for immediate family but nobody else. I think maybe e-cards are the way forward..?

What do you think?? As much as I love christmas its an expense I am going to cut down on.

Katie :) x

Message: I think e-cards are a great way to stay in touch with everyone and reduce the spending, I donate to Oxfam Unwrapped and send the email I get from them as an e-card to keep in touch with everyone (will probably post it to facebook this year too)

Hi,

I send cards to the older people in the family/parentals as they make a big thing about how much they like them. Friends and family more my age will just get an ecard or a drink instead. I wouldn't be bothered if I didn't get any cards at all tbh.

Hiya,

Yes I definitely will be! We send handmade ones to close friends and family (there are a of family too!) so that accounted for about 45 cards. Then I send shop bought ones to work friends, extended family etc. I'd send all homemade if I had time, but you have to draw the line somewhere! I figure that since I only buy presents for the kids and a few other close family, then it's a way of telling everyone else how much I value them and how I wish them a wonderful chrismtas!

Hi Katie,

I was thinking of cutting back this year, but having made my own cards for the first time I have perhaps spent more than I usually would have!  The family ones may work out slightly cheaper though.

I do think we all send far too many, especially school children.  Last year we had two walls full of the childrens' ones alone!

e-cards could work if everyone started to send them that way .. but for me I am enjoying my card making, plus the older people in our family would appreciate traditional cards more I believe.
