I'm not usually one for supermarkets, but I needed to stock up on a few things and found myself in Sainsbury's where I bagged a bargain.

They had a huge container of long-life energy efficient light bulbs, the 60 watt equivalents, which were 49p each or 5 for 50p.  (sponsored by an energy company no doubt, but good enough for me)

Now, why didn't I get more?  Maybe next week :-)

Wow Maid

That's a great bargain, and worth stocking up on at that price, especially when you think that not so long ago they were more like £6 a bulb ;-)

Maybe we should start a thread to alert each other to the great green bargains that are out there?

Hi Rach

Good to hear from you again, how are you?

I've been thinking of you this week.  I wish you all the very best for the week ahead and in case you're suddenly whisked away, I hope everything goes really well for you.  Please let me know your news as soon as you have some won't you?

(Its my birthday next week, so maybe I'll have a new birth mate ;-))

Much luv

Maid

Hi Maid

Aw thanks for your message, yup I'm still around and there's no sign that movement is imminent so it could well be sometime next week and you may well share your birthday ;-) Obviously I'll keep you all posted and will let you know as soon as I can of any developments. I'm just so excited, I really can't wait for the little un to arrive, think I've got everything I'll need (and can't believe how little I've had to buy due to freecycle and the massively overwhelming generosity of people), bags are packed ready to go. I just can't believe how lucky I've been, truly blessed, my pregnancy has been really straightforward, and I have to say that I have loved every minute of it, just hope the next bit is as straightforward ;-)

Much love, and early Happy Birthday wishes for next week.

Rach.xXx

Ps Can you believe that I've already been asked what we'll get the little 'un for Christmas? I was so surprised, I just replied honestly - it'll be one month old, do you really think it'll have a clue what's going on? That might seem miserable, but I think to buy a present would be such a waste, and obviously I want to raise this child as responsibly as I can, environmentally speaking. See? Even now I can't get off my soap box, must be the extra bulk makes it awkward for me to climb down, lol! That's it, I'll stop now ;-) x

LOL about your soap-box - go careful up there and make sure you don't fall :-)

I agree about not buying presents, although for my first Christmas at 6 weeks old, I did receive a teddy bear.  He's had some new buttons for eyes since then and a couple of stitches here and there, but otherwise he's still going strong.

I'm pleased everything is going well for you and you're as ready as you can be

Take care and much luv

Maid
