I haven't been on here much because since my youngest was born I've found that you can't plan anything, and any sense of routine has gone out the window. That said, every time I pop back in here I am always inspired, as with this new thread.

So after reading everyone else's new routines, I've pinched a few things for me to concentrate on:

1) laundry piles - I also have them stacked everywhere from the stairs, to the dressing table, to the kids' room. So I will concentrate during the day on making sure washing is being kept on top of, and every spare minute I get I'll pack the dry stuff away properly.

2) concentrating on one room at a time sounds great too. I feel completely overwhelmed with all the clutter and mess everywhere and don't know where to start. Last night after reading this thread I started on the kitchen. I couldn't get it all done, I think it will take about three nights to do everything, but then its all done until the next time I get around to it.

Thanks!
Kirsty

Hi Kirsty,

Good to see you, hope things are going well with the baby and everything.

ikwym with the laundry - when I first started laundry was my biggest problem and it took a while for me to get the new routine - and there's only 2 of us, lol. Concentrating on one room is a great way to get started - and the kitchen is probably the best place to start. If the kitchen is tidy then the rest of the house doesn't seem to get as bad for some reason!

You are doing the right things, chipping away at it will get you into the routine and it will make a difference. Well done you!
