Dear Dad,
I hope you were watching over us all yesterday as we said our goodbyes. The whole family was there including Anthony and Sue plus their two children - David and Louise and their partners. There was Anne and Bet, Muriel's sister Jean and her son Graham, Hedley - Maureen's ex husband, Anne Marie, Angie, our Richard and Johnny with Sue. Everyone was there dad including of course your special little man - Christopher.
You're resting not too far from Linda and my nana and grandad, so plenty of people close by.
Mum is being very strong and understands why you had to go dad, you were getting more and more tired. She is sad because she misses you but thankful because you had such a peaceful journey throughout your stay in Southpark until the very end in hospital.
Thank you for almost 47 years that you gave me as my dad, I'm the luckiest girl in the world as you always have been and always will be my hero. I remember as a girl how I would follow you everywhere and you were so happy to let me tag along.
You decorated my bedroom in the first flat I shared, you went with me whenever I bought another old banger of a car. You welcomed me home with open arms at 3 o'clock one morning when Keith and I were splitting up. You dashed over with mum when Richard had got me so infuriated and you both strolled the country lanes with me until I had calmed down. When I showed you the scan as I first told you that Richard & I were expecting a baby, you smiled and you have smiled ever since whenever you were in Christopher's company or just heard his name - you both adored each other.
Dad, I understand that it was your time to go and we're all fine so don't worry as we're all looking after each other.
I love you dad.
Juney.
