Was thinking of getting one of these as a suprise for a party but was stunned at the cost... £13 and it's empty too.

Does anyone know of a place that sells these things filled and how much they are ?

Surely people only have these as additions to a party and not to give as the gift itself or am I wrong ?

Am I completely out of touch in expecting these things to be much cheaper when it's empty and going to be bashed to bits to get at what's inside ?

Any thoughts ?

Thanks

Hi,

What about making your own. Just papier mache, paint and a few sweets. And if you do the last layer with the coloured pages of magazines/catalogues etc you won't need to paint it!

Or how about trying Matalan? They have a party section with all sorts of things.

Hi Rachel,

Are you supposed to have these things for a children's party where every child gets to bash it ?

It's just that I was intending it to be used by the one child (my Nephew) at his birthday party which would just be him, his baby sister and the family which don't include any other children.

So it would have just been my Nephew bashing this Pinata and so he would end up with everything inside. If I filled it with sweets and toys etc it would be a lot for one child don't you think ? I'm not really that familiar with them to be honest.

I see on some sites they come with fancy sticks and blindfolds. Don't fancy letting my Sister's child loose in my Brother's house with a stick while he's blindfolded... the Pinata could be the last thing he hits... lol

Thanks for the idea of making my own though. I am a carer for my mum and it's just the sort of thing I could get her involved with.. making a papier mache figure.

Oh one other thing... do you know the usual size of these things ?

Cheers

Oh really ... I didn't know Asda sell them. I'll watch out for those when I'm next there. £5 would be much more like the kind of price I'd pay.

Thanks for that Sam.

Cheers
