I have scarily vivid dreams! I have bizare premonitions, not just about big things, sometimes they are rather mundane but I do seem to get get clear messages.

Just wondered what you think about your own dreams? Has anyone else ever had any premonitions? Do you forget your dreams as soon as you wake up or do you remember dreams from right back in your childhood? Do you ever have reoccuring dreams/nightmares? Do you find your dreams easy to interpret or do they seem to be a big old jumbled mix?!

Do you think our dreams can help us in any way?

I got into dream analysis for a while in my teens and have tried to get back into it in the last couple of years - I got as far as buying and reading a very interesting book! I just don't have the time to fit in getting a good night's sleep and having a good chunk of time in the morning to sketch and note down the dream as soon as I wake up. I would love to make time for it one day in the future but I don't see it happening until my little one is much older!

A lot of nights I don't remember anything or it's just a very hazy memory but occasionally I'll have a dream so vivid it takes my breath away when I wake up and leaves me shaken for most of the day - those are the times that I know it's an important message that I need to pay attention to.

When I was a child I had a reccurring dream about being separated from my mother which I can still picture now. As a teenager I had lots of dreams all about being watched which made me feel very intimidated.

Hi there,

I'm a lurker & have never posted on this board before, but I have really vivid dreams, usually 3-4 a night and I remember 90% of them.  I have had a couple of particularly vivid ones where loved ones that had passed on seemed to have a message for me.  In one of them, my mum's uncle came to see me to say he was sorry for the bad things he had done when he was alive - I don't know if it was real or just my mind needing closure but it meant I was able to grieve finally after having only felt anger towards him.

I had recurring dreams as a child about the house burning down, which went on for a few years and also one of being chased, I think by a wolf but I'm not sure.  Other odd ones when I was about 6 were of balloons made of bricks getting bigger & bigger and also carousels going faster and fast - I found these ones scary & oppressive but have never understood what they meant.  Maybe I'm just mad!!

Just a quickie, I recently read somewhere about dreaming about balloons - will try and dig it out for you as it talked about their symbolism etc.

Hi Pickle,

Couldn't find my book about dreams and symbolism. I do recall that balloons symbolise our dreams and hopes. Balloons made from bricks would suggest either a fear of not being able to achieve your dreams or the dream itself being unobtainable. Not sure if that was helpful, but yes your gut response that they were oppressive is correct!
