Just wandering what your view is, how old is too old to have a baby. Do you think there is an age too old?

I've come to the conclusion that nature knows best, therefore when your periods end, time's up! What are your views on this. Also congratulations on your (was gonna write little!) bundle of joy!

Having had my DD at 41, my personal opinion would be that, realistically,  about 46 is getting too old especially if you are trying to conceive naturally.  (I have tried since then but unsuccessfully.)  I also feel  that any older and it will be difficult to interact with your child and do the usual activities with him/her.   You are more likely to embarrass him/her by looking and acting more like their grandparent. The chances of living to see your grandchildren are also slimmer and your child is more likely to miss out on grandparents.

On the other hand, if I suddenly fell pregnant older than that,  I'd be delighted! And of course many people will say 41 is too old!

Thought I'd come out of lurkdom to post on this one!

I always thought that the big 40 was my 'cut off' and old enough!

However, I had a miscarriage at 40 and it took a year of ttc before I had a beautiful baby girl at the age of 41 ... then fast forward 3 yrs and here I am bf my 3 month old beautiful baby girl (5th child) and the age of 44!! (hate to say it but 45 next month!) she was a complete surprise baby, I had carefully planned all the others (bit of a control/planning freak!) and after ttc for such a long time with no 4 I NEVER imagined I would conceive without trying especially at my age lol!!
So there you go, never say never and who knows how old 'too old' is, as others have said maybe we should leave that one to nature.

Someone wrote of the lady who had a surprise baby (called Angela?) when she was 50. I wish that lady would pop in here and tell us a bit about herself. I think it would be really interesting.
