Hi Jo and big congrats on your pregnancy!

I have 2 ds aged 15 and 10 and 3 dd aged 8,3 and 3 months ( I am 44) my eldest ds was not impressed at all when he was told of the last two pregnancies, however when the babies were born he was just wonderful and such a big help, his attitude changed completely after the babies arrived and he continues to be such a fab big brother, my 10 and 8 year olds were completely happy from the start and have also been brilliant, so don't worry about ds, he will come round, the bigger age gaps haven't been a problem for me and often is quite useful when you need a bit of help!!

Thank you so much for that Catz, DS(10) has started to come round to the idea slowly. The bigger age gaps weren't intentional as I have had a few back ops that meant I couldnt get pregnant until I was stable enough, but I agree it will be very helpful. My eldest was my little assistant when my little one was born always wanting to help.

Thank you once again for your kind words hun

Hi

Just wanted to post in case you are worried re your back op.  I am 49 and mum to 2 year old twins who I carried to 39 weeks.  I had a back op 10 years ago which sounds similar to yours without any probs.

I wish you all the luck you could want for  healthy 9 mths and beyond

Love

xxx

Thank you so much for your reply Lesley,

What did you have done to your back hun??  I had a disc taken out at L4/L5 and rods inserted either side of spine. My back and muscles are very weak due to 2 previous ops on the same area.  I really dont want to put my back backwards due to the pregnancy so I know  I will have to stand my ground with the maternity staff.

Hi

I had exactly the same disc removed, however didnt have any rods inserted.  t the time they were trying out a new technique with injections of a silicone like substance however this ws removed from the market although it seemed to do the trick with me.

I hope that ll goes well for you.

Lesley
