I have a DD of 18 and a DS of 1 (big gap I know!!!)

I had a MC in Jan this year and have been TTC since.

Can anyone tell me if you can get help to conceive. ( I am now 42!)

Hi Kate,

due to your age yo might only get help privately. I am 44 nexth month, I have a 20-year-old daughter and 2- year-old son. I have suffered a number of m/c;s during past year and I was only offered a private appointment in St Marys in Paddigton that I turned down. They would have told me, after thousands of pounds spent on tests, that it is due to my age...I actually have been really naughty and got whatever I needed from the internet- I have Pcos so I got metformin, clomid, progesterone and I am planning to take also Prednisone in case it is immunological failure- and baby aspirin of course.

I do not endorse anyone else doing what I have done, and especially Clomid should be only taken supervised due to the risks it carries.

I got my BFP today so I hoping that it will be my month and year...

I wish you good luck with your TTC:ing and hope to see your balloon up soon,

Hanna x

Thanks for your help.  I reckoned I would only get help privately - not sure if it is worth paying the money for them to tell me, as you say, what I already know!

Good luck - I'll be hoping this is your month!

Hi Kate,

Just an idea but something I started about 3 yrs not for conception but general health for all the family, was to use 'natural' products for make up, shower gel, shampoo, everything really ie no parabens sls etc.

I conceived 'accidentally' at the age of 43 and gave birth in June to a beautiful dd at 44! My 4 previous children had taken planning/timing etc for many months.
Maybe a coincidence and just a thought but an easy one to try?
