Hi Everyone,
My daught is almost 7month now, but she still hasn't rolled over yet. I try to help her practice by crossing her legs. She can do with my help, but she doesn't like it. She doesn't like tummy time either. few minutes each time, that's it. She can sit lean against cough, but she can't sit by herself yet. I try to let her practice, but she just doesn't like it. She does enjoy standing up & jumping up and down. Should she be able to sit independently and roll over by herself? what can I do to help her to do thoese. Thanks

Hi
My DD1 was rolling at 3 or 4 months, but she couldn't sit up unsupported til she was 8 months old.
Try not to worry about it, she'll do it in her own time when she is ready.
Carrying her in a soft, cloth sling would help strengthen her muscles and does the same 'job' as tummy time (both stregnthens muscles and takes pressure off the skull).

My son could sit, but couldn't roll of ages after than time, think it was 8 or 9 months! He was a late developer in that respect, including walking at 22 months, but I tell you, they all come together at the same rate by the time they reach school. Plus, your daughter will excel in areas where others are left behind, with my son he is wonderful with memory, can guide me around the shops to find his favourites in town, recognises so many symbols and signs ( cannot go past a disney logo within a 200 yard range, no matter how tiny it is!) and loves to navigate home (turn that way Mummy!) He is now 4, and completely in line with his peers. Jane Janie

Hi
You have just described my dd1. She sat at 29 weeks, and rolled at about 8.5ms. She is 6 now and incredibly agile and athletic. In fact more athletic and agile than dd2, who sat at 24 weeks and was crawling at just over 7ms! She also walked earlier than dd2!
It means nothing. That she is weight bearing is good.
I gave up on tummy time after dd1, neither of my second 2 liked it either!
