Message: Hi everyone, hope you are very well. My daughter is 7 months and one week now. She loves all the veges and fruits I give to her. I am wondering when I should start giving her some meat or fish. I did give her some fish the other day, she loved it. Is it too early to start giving meat or fish? Currently her three meals are normally yoghurt for breaky, fruit with rice cereal for lunch and veges (sometime with chicken soup) for dinner. Does this sound ok?

Sounds perfect.

The guide is your baby really, when you try anything new do so "gently" she might love it - great, equally she might hate it and spit it out!

As she gets older she'll rely less on her milk for main nutrition and more on her food, so going towards variety and texture now is spot on.

Fish is easier to eat as its softer when cooked than meats.

Annabelle Karmel does a very good baby food book that you can pick up quite reasonably on ebay/amazon that is full of ideas.
