Hello

Can someone please give me a little advise (Well more reassurance) I had a 12 week scan yesterday and they couldn't get a good view of the baby, i saw the heart beat and heard the heart beat but the baby was curled in a ball so we couldn't get a good picture, I was wondering if this was normal and is ok.

I am just worrying myself as I have suffered 2 miscarriages in the past one at 21 weeks and one last year at about 8 weeks. I am just worrying myself silly.

Please help someone.

S x

Hiya

What did the sonographer say? Were they concerned at all? Have they suggested a rescan or will you get an anomaly scan at 20wks? As they see so many babies they would be able to tell you if normal or not. What about your midwife, could she reassure you?

Have you joined the Mums Due board for your due date, because someone might be experiencing the same as you?

I'll ask around and see if anyone else has experienced similar. I'm sure it is fine though if the sonographer wasn't worried although I can understand your worries.

Hi S

Try not to worry, these little beanies are little monkeys!  It does happen, so long as the heartbeat is there which it is and the sonographer wasn't concerned which you haven't said they were, then I think it's safe to say all is well at this stage.

Do give your midwife a ring though to put your mind at ease.

Am I right in guessing you are due in February 2010?  I'm one of the CL's of the Mums Due Feb 10 board.  There are a fantastic bunch of ladies over there.  You may find an MD board a great source of support.  They are all currently having or have just had their 12 week scans.

Here's the link, have a look and post when you feel ready http://messageboards.ivillage.co.uk/iv-ukpbfeb2010/
