Well, after yet another sleepless night - this time fretting about just how sore the injection was going to be, I am just back from the clnic and have now had my swine flu vaccination.

For those of you who are worried about the jab itself (as I was), I can honestly say i barely felt it at all! So much so I said 'are you sure that's it?!' when she moved away!

She literally said "all you'll feel is a wee nip" and on the word 'nip' I felt what can only be described as the tiniest of all nips, ever.  Not sore AT ALL.

I spoke to one of the GPs and my friend this morning (who is also a GPs wife as it happens) who both had their jab on Tuesday this week.  Both asay their arm got a bit sore after about 6 hours and they had 2 nights of broken sleep as they couldnt really lay comfortably on that side.

The clinic was full of preggie ladies and every single one of us looked apprehensive.  We all got chatting and the concensus was although we felt nervous, we felt sure it was the right thing to do.

So, hopefully for those of you who have decided to have it, but are worrying about the jab, I might have helped put your mind at ease a little.

No doubt my next post will be a whinge about a sore arm LOL!

Ali xx

Hi Ali

Glad your jab's over and done with and wasn't painful (yet!). I just wanted to say thanks for posting about it as i've been worried about getting it. I'm seen at the high risk clinic at the hospital and they've really been pushing for me to get it done but I couldn't make up my mind. I've now decided to go for it and reading your posts and talking it over with my MW i've decided to get it this tues when i'm back at the hosp. I feel a lot more reassured about it now.

Hi Marion

I've felt tired today (24 hours later) but nothing to write home about - could even easily just be normal prg tiredness.. have had friends round tonight and when I had a nap earlier, was absolutely fine laying on my jabbed arm!

It really seems as if I dreamt the whole thing.  I feel very at peace now that my decision is behind me, and babba is moving just fine etc, no worries there.

DH asked to see where I'd been jabbed and honestly, neither of us could even see when the injection was!

I know it's easier said that done, but do not worry about it at all.

Ali xx
