i agree that the mail are a bunch of facists and never belive anything i read in their bias spread! however i have followed the story from the girl being told she was not able to get married as they did not think she had the "mental capacity" to make her own decision about marriage from what i can see she's been brought up by grandparents and social workers have had a long standing involvement with the family, so i think there may be a lot of back ground issues that the press have not reported on. it saddens me that the girl and her partner sound as though they have tried to comply with social workers, wanting to attend parenting classes etc but they are now considering leaving Fife altogether - to enable them to be given a chance with a different borough and social work division. most social workers will try to keep a family together if at all possible (financially it is much cheaper than the foster care route fife council want to take), so i'm not really sure what they think the child is at risk of here. on the face of it the girl seems to have a good support network, including the baby's dad then i fail to see why they need to remove this child from its mother at birth. having done a social work degree and worked in children and family services i'm not really sure what is going on with this case - i have seen similar cases but intervention and removal of a child is only done if the child is thought to be in iminent risk of abuse or nelect Lj x
