I haven't been on this board very much for quite some years but just wanted to share my story with you.
We started ttc in 2001, after 18 months we saw our GP for a battery of tests and finally after 2 years we got referred to our local NHS unit. After many more tests and many years of being poked and prodded we were finally put on the list for IUI. No cause for our infertility found, it just wasn't happening. We had 4 attempts at IUI before the nurse suggested we go back to the consultant for IVF referral. Earlier this year we reached the top of the waiting list and starting our first round of treatment. Luckily for us, first time round and after 8 years I got my first ever positive pregnancy test. I am now 35 weeks pregnant and looking forward to the arrival of our baby.
I just wanted to say please don't give up hope. I did many many times, even thought about not going ahead with IVF. The day before egg collection my husband and I had the biggest row for some years and I even considered not going then. I know it is difficult with passing years, another birthday, another Christmas, another New Year without a baby but stay strong and good luck everyone.
