Hello

I first posted here 5-6 years ago when I was embarking on my first private ED IVF cycle after a premature menopause when I was a teenager. That cycle, along with the subsequent second attempt 3 years later failed.

After waiting a lengthy 7 years I reached the top of the NHS waiting list. After a rocky start - was down regging for a month, and the donor almost didnt have enough eggs for me (the other recipient dropped out luckily for me). The transfer took place.

I had spent the previous 2 years having acupuncture, I began having chinese herbs and hypnosis, I was taking oil capsules and spirulina and the doctors had agreed to let me have assisted hatching as it was my third attempt.

I was just trying to tip the odds in my favour.

After 2 weeks of fatigue, stomach cramps and slightly sore boobs I tested - a week early for ED IVF - I got a resounding positive!

I had the scan yesterday and have to go back for another in a week as we saw 1 healthy embryo and possibly another.....!

This was going to be my last treatment as we were then going to focus on adoption. I just hope I can give a little faith to all you ladies out there who are struggling to maintain the courage to continue. I know I was struggling.

I am now 6 weeks and 3 days - a long way to go - but closer than I have ever been. I also have 2 embryos frozen, which I never thought possible.

Lots of love, hope and babydust to you all.

Sally

First of all Sally, congratulations on your long awaited BFP. You must be absolutely thrilled and so happy. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy. Great to hear your 1st scan showed 1 healthy embryo and possibly 2 and that you have 2 frozen embryos as well for siblings later on.

Your story is inspirational and I'm glad to hear ED worked for you.

Best Wishes

Hi Guys

Thanks for all of your kind words!

I actually have had a bit of spotting last night and this morning - which the clinic have said not to worry about too much but it is just a constant reminder of how vulnerable it all is. Roll on 12 weeks, blimey what a roller coaster ride.

Good luck again to you all and dust and glue (glue for me to!!!)

Dont give up

Sallyxxxxx
