Hi,
Hoping someone can help with this. My 6 wk old little boy has been breast and bottle fed from birth, mostly breast but gradually it ended up being just breast evening and during the night, with formula during the day.

He has always had explosive nappies and seemed to be in pain all the time wriggling about to try and settle himself, very windy and basically all the symptoms of lactose intolerance apart from weight loss. We brought him to the doc who said there was no test for it but prescribed lactose free formula for him. it doesnt seem to be agreeing with him, he is very unhappy, screaming and is now constipated.

I found info on lactose overload and this sounds more like it but i dont know what to do now with regard to formula and i had stopped bfing when the doc said he was lactose intolerant.

He is currently on c&c infasoy, before that enfamil and before that c&g first milk, so he has had far too much chopping and changing formulas for only being 6 wks old.

Any advice appreciated.

Ruth and baby Sam
