Hi, Just wondered if any of you ladies have cats or have had cats if you've been pregnant before? We had two kittens which we have had since May. I know I should avoid cleaning out the litter tray and my DH is doing that. Doc said if I really need to do it, just wear gloves and ensure I clean my hands thoroughly afterwards. But I'm just leaving it to DH unless it's a really bad smell from it! Just wondering though if it's just through contact you can contract toxoplasmosis or if breathing in the smell of the feces can cause you to catch it too? In other words, if our cats have a bowel movement and DH isn't in to clean the litter tray, the smell can take a good half hour to an hour to clear if not cleaned out straight away, so if i'm in the same room at the time - with candles on to mask the smell - would this be dangerous to the baby or not? Should I just stay out of the room until it's cleaned? Thanks. Lysy xxx
