I'm a bit of a lurker here as have been wanting a home birth but decided not to post too much until I'm sure and everything is OK.

Had 34 week appt today, regular midwife on hols so saw stand in.  All is OK and she mentioned that I had expressed a preference for hb so gave me a leaflet.  She said to make an appt in 2 weeks time and midwife will discuss more fully.  Is this leaving it a bit late, I'll be 36 weeks then, or am I being a bit impatient?  I like to have things organised!!

Thanks.

Hi Elaine,

That's not too late at all as it's unlikely that your MW's would go on call for a home birth before 37wks anyway, so it would still give you a week to get organised. It doesn't mean that you can't start to get prepared for your home birth before your next appointment though, if you haven't started already.
