Hi Everyone

I am new to this board but regularly post on others hope somoe can answers my delicate question. My son has got scarletina and also a bit of a infection in his boy parts, the male nurse at the gp has told him to pull back his foreskin and wash underneath. I maybe being thick here but he is only 8 and I thought that boys did not have to do this until teens. Is this nomal to wash like this at 8 yrs old.

TIA

Hiya,

My boys were told by a dr to pull their skin back when they were about 4/5. My youngest got sore down their and dr said it could be sign of tight foreskin so get him to pull it back gentle in the bath to check it wasnt too tight. I wasnt told they should do it to wash but if he needs to to help infection he has its probably wise. It certainly dosnt do any harm. As far as I know all my friends with boys have also been advised to do it.

hth

Hi Sara

Thanks for your reply I have had to take my dd to Alder Hey today to see a urologist so I asked her advise whilst there.

Thanks

When My youngest was 3 he use to get very bad infections under his foreskin and after a number of times to the dr's they decided he needed to have a circumcision as his fore skin was too tight and way to long.

It's the best thing that could of happened to him no more infections.
