Hiya, me again!

My 11.5mo DD had a cold a few weeks back and ever since she's been coughing day and night. I'm normally the type that let's these things run their course but it's affecting her sleeping and eating now.

Is there much I can do to help her? I've tried the steamy bathroom approach but it seems to make her cough even more! I'd feel a bit silly taking her to the doctors just for a cough!

Hiya,

You can get a basic cough syrup in a pharmacy - bascically it just soothes the throat.  At night put a blanket under her bottom sheet, this will lift her head slightly to make it easier for her to breath and will stop any mucus sitting in her throat making her cough.

I would take her to the dr though just to check she isnt wheezy or have a chest infection, just to be sure - its not a silly thing to go for :)

Thanks Sara. I'll have a go with the blanket under the sheet and get some cough syrup tomorrow, if it's not any better in a day or so I'll pop her along to the doctors.
